Birmingham born and bred, I’m a self-taught, fashion/portrait photographer and owner of Studio 33 in the heart of Birmingham’s jewellery quarter.

I always loved photos and photography. My father was an enthusiastic hobbyist photographer who owned an SLR camera that he would never let me play with, which as a child, of course, made me fascinated by it. My mother was a hairdresser and I spent many childhood hours looking through her hair magazines while she worked and I am still sure that this is subconsciously where my inspiration comes from.

After many years of learning my craft shooting portfolios for models, designers, agencies and makeup artists,  I now enjoy sharing my knowledge by running workshops and groups shoots from our central UK studio base.

My goal, along with my partner and fellow creative pro, Iulia David, plus the backing of Interfit Photographic is to build a new creative photography hub in the West Midlands. Bringing together beginners who want to learn how to begin shooting portraits, alongside seasoned pros needing quality facilities to rent

‘After years of learning through making my own mistakes, I’m ready to teach you how to avoid the common pitfalls and rip up a few of the rulebooks to help you get the most out of even the simplest lighting setup and create great images!

The reason I use the S1 in my kit is they allow me to create versatile looks, The S1 is really compact which makes it great for on location shoots. In the type of work that I produce i'm quite often in situations where i'm working with less then ideal ambient light whether its artificial or natural, by introducing the S1 into those situations I am then taking charge of those scenarios and I am able to create a directional light that lets achieve the looks that I am aiming for.
